FIREARMS TEMPORARY IMPORT PERMITS

FOR SPORTING ACTIVITY

PROCEDURES

 

 1.  EU CITIZENS IN POSSESSION OF INDIVIDUAL EUROPEAN FIREARMS PERMIT  

European citizens, in possession of individual European firearms permit, will be allowed to temporarily import firearms and ammunition by virtue of the following documentation:

  • Invitation Letter for the Shotgun World Shoot II°, to be requested to IPSC Italy Secretariat (email:This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)
  • Individual European Firearms Permit, listing all firearms (with their serial numbers) to be imported;

2.  NON EU CITIZENS AND EU CITIZENS NOT IN POSSESSION OF INDIVIDUAL EUROPEAN FIREARMS PERMIT

All Non-EU citizens, and all EU citizens not in possession of an individual European Firearms Permit, shall obtain the following documentation in order to be allowed to temporarily import their firearms and ammunition:

  • Invitation Letter for the Shotgun World Shoot II°, to be requested to IPSC Italy Secretariat (email:This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)
  • Declaration of Match Enrollment:(according to European Regulation no. 258/2010, Chapter 9 Paragraph 1.A.ii), to be requested to IPSC Italy Secretariat (email:This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).

Upon reception, IPSC Italy will issue the requested declaration signed by IPSC Italy President.

 

PROCEDURES

Documents listed above either in Point 1. or 2., will allow their holder to temporarily import firearms listed on the permit (up to a maximum of 3), along with ammunition (up to 1’000), for a period of max 90 consecutive days.

The above listed documentation shall be produced upon request of Police authorities.

Note: for Non-EU citizens, and all EU citizens not in possession of an individual European Firearms Permit, the documents listed in Point 2. shall be presented to Border Police for official stamping upon entering and leaving Italy in order to be valid.

Firearms and ammunition must be transported unloaded and separated from ammunition.

Although not strictly related to the Shotgun World Shoot, we wish to remind you that 9x19mm calibre (a.k.a. 9mm Parabellum or 9mm Luger) is not allowed in Italy, and importation of any firearm in that calibre is considered a serious criminal offense.
